So, this weekend I'm going on a D&D-themed LARP at an 80-acre camp in Buloxi, Ms. I'm told hundreds will be there.

do they have a website?
This will take the teeth right out of your ability to make fun of anyone for a long time, Sarge. I'm not saying this in a gloating kind of way, but rather as a cautionary tale. I have strayed down that road myself, in an ill-advised foray at a Multi-track Con, and have been paying the price ever since. You'll never again be able to say you've never LARPed.
I know you're a dork and everything, but why is this happening? Here's what I want to know from you once you've been through this fire: is Mississipian D&D substantially different than it's northern counterpart?
In 500 words or less, please explain, in socio-politico-economicohistorical terms,E why this might be.

I understand where you're coming from. Trust me, I have reservations myself. The bottom line is that I got involved in a D&D group and was pressured into going. I'm mostly going so that I can tell them I don't like it and never want to go back. On the other hand, it's free and will be a more interesting way to spend my weekend than what I normally do. Also, from what I can gather, it does not seem to be haphazard, spur of the moment type of LARP. The weapons and armor are actually pretty sweet, seriously. And they do have some kind of fun sounding things to do while you're there. So, I figured I might as well go for it.
is it too late to add some "really sweet" armor to ayatollah on the t-shirt?
god bless you, sarge.
You're doing this after you cut your hair?
Can you take pictures, or is there a black ops veil of secrecy over the event?
I would be interested in discovering how one does character generation, if there's an exp system, and any way to advance in levels.
I also want you to report on the handling of the magic.
Onward, then, Sarge. And best of luck to you. I am with stridey in my desire for the fullest available disclosure regarding the particulars of this event. Understand, I'm too much of a dork to be looking down at my nose at you. I'm curious.
