A Japanese man was arrested this week after making 37,760 silent calls to directory inquiries because he wanted to listen to the "kind" voices of female telephone operators.

Yeah, wow. That article might be even better than the one I posted:

"Having recovered his senses, he later appeared before investigating magistrate Gilles Riva and 'coherently explained that he had eaten "magic mushrooms" that he had bought in the Netherlands during a trip through Europe.

'He said he had lots of regrets and said sorry at least fifty times,' Mr Riva told the Swiss news agency ATS."
