it would be a bit more eerie had the room been full with blacks, and the reporter said, "It doesn't matter, we'll make sure you can't vote anyway."
On a more serious note, BET was doing a voter registration drive this past weekend. They had a civil rights lawyer from Detroit on air discussing about lists being compiled of everyone who has had their homes foreclosed, and the worry that they will be told they can't vote on election day.
yeah-- "voter caging." explain this concept to a canadian or dutchman; watch their face for the exact moment when he realizes that we, as an electorate and a people, are hopelessly fucked. it's like we have a collective desire to pre-ruin all things potentially great. maybe there's an entry in the DSM for this?
